Denver, Colorado (January 10, 2008) On January 31, 2008, Luigi Cani will attempt to set a new world record for flying and landing the world’s smallest and fastest parachute ever built: The JVX-37. Luigi Cani is a test pilot for Icarus Canopies, one of the largest and most advanced parachute manufacturing companies in the world. He has accomplished over 8000 skydives and currently holds the world record for fastest freefall speed at an amazing 343mph! Wanting to continue to push the envelope in parachuting, Cani will test pilot the JVX-37, a prototype parachute that will fly as fast as a human body in terminal velocity. This amazingly small parachute is just slightly smaller than a twin bed sheet! This stunt is EXTREMELY dangerous! It will take all of Luigi’s prior skydiving and parachuting skills as well as an enormous amount of concentration and focus to make this stunt successful. Cani will use thousands of training jumps combined with the skills acquired from previous stunts to set this new world’s record of landing the smallest parachute in the world. To be a part of Luigi Cani being the first human to jump, fly and land the world's smallest and fastest parachute, please contact Kelly McLear at the information below. We welcome all media out to this awesome event! Stock footage of Luigi Cani preparing for the stunt, footage from previous stunts and aerial video of the world record stunt will be made available upon request after the stunt has been completed. When: January 31, 2008, approximately 10:30am PST, weather permitting
